Cancer Registry

Leesburg Regional Medical Center recently received a three-year accreditation with “commendation” by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

The importance of an accredited cancer program is emphasized by the fact that twenty-five percent of hospitals in the United States have cancer programs approved by the CoC; and 80 percent of newly diagnosed cancer patients are treated in these institutions.

Central Florida Health Alliance provides supportive and continuing services for our patients and their family members. With our cancer registry, data is collected and patients are followed closely to monitor outcomes. Our team is able to track important trends such as survival rates, types of treatments used and determine the most common types of cancer in our community.
